The host family will pay in full for the au pairs accommodation, meals and laundering expenses as well as a monthly salary which depends upon the country and previous experience. The following are the minimum salary levels but may be higher depending upon experience and the hours worked:

Germany              : Minimum EUR 205 per month (Euro 260 from 01/01/06)

Spain                    : Minimum EUR 60 per week

Switzerland         : Minimum CHF 657 Swiss Francs net per month

United Kingdom  : Minimum GBP 55 net per week

In addition the host family will ensure that the au pair is free to attend language lessons every week. The cost of the language lessons will normally be the responsibility of the au pair but may sometimes be paid by the family.

In Germany, Spain & Switzerland the host family will also ensure that a work permit is available where necessary.
